Funky Hand paper again

After making my card for the Penny Black Challenge I had quite a bit of the two patterned papers left over, so I decided to make this card to use up some of them. However, I felt that it would need three different papers to look balanced so I had to print another sheet from the same collection .... and now .... I have even more left over pieces, lol. I really do like this collection though, it's called 'Lush Lilac' and the photographs don't really do it justice as the colours are nicer in real life, the base card is a perfect match for the papers and the ribbon is actually white. The squares are 4cm and have been lightly inked around the edges with black.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Week 85

The challenge this week at PBSC is 'Something Sweet'. I've often thought about entering one of these challenges, as I love Penny Black stamps, but this is the first time that I've actually done so. My first thoughts on 'Something Sweet' were to do with cake and chocolate ... but then I decided to go with sweet as in cute so I used this image of two hedgies hugging. The papers are from my recently purchased CDRom from Funky Hand called 'Dreams Come True'. This time the format has changed so that it is even easier to browse the different collections than it was with previous CD's.

Pink Petticoat meets Penny Black

I'm trying to remember to take photographs of all the cards I make so that I can upload them here as a record of my efforts ... for my own benefit even if no-one else drops by to see them. This one was commisioned by a friend, for a lady named Marian who was turning 80 in early December. As I was unable to give it to my friend personaly it was posted off to her by 1st class post in good time for the big day but failed to arrive so at the last moment she had to buy a basic card locally. I was dissapointed, to say the least, as I thought that even if it turned up after Christmas it would be usless unless my friend knew someone else named Marian who was celebrating her 80th birthday ... unlikely eh. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from my friend last week, to say that the card had now arrived and .... she had discovered that Marian's 80th birthday is not until next December .... maybe the PO knew that all along and held the card up on purpose, LOL.

Get Funky Challenge - January

It's been a while since my last post but we are in the process (very slow process) of installing a new kitchen so crafting has had to take a back seat. I have managed to make a few cards but due to the weather conditions it's been difficult to get decent pictures of them. This card was made with the intention of entering it into the 'Get Funky Challenge for January' and the 'I Love Promarkers Challenge no 6' as both stipulated Spots and Stripes. I like to colour with Promarkers and love my Funky Hand CD Roms so all I had to do was choose which papers to use ... easier said than done ... then colour my image with Promarkers and make the card. I printed several Spots and Stripes papers before deciding which to use and when the card was finished and photographed I realised that the deadline at 'I Love Promarkers' had passed. Still, I'm pleased with the finished result and might use the other papers to make some similar cards. I decided to trim the top left corner of the spotted paper to echo the 'golf ball' shape and then punched a green circle to represent a 'ball marker'.

Three More Cards

These are the other cards that I made with the free Winter Wonderland paper collection by Martine McKnight. I'm not completely happy with the photographs but the dismal weather we're having at the moment means it's difficult to get goods shots. I've tried outside, but it's either raining or too dull; and inside, but there isn't enough natural light and using flash seems to bleach out the colours. So I've fiddled about with the images, adjusting the brightness and contrast, and these will have to do. I've loved working with these papers and will definately be using this collection again but as there are so many to choose from it's difficult deciding which ones. I've only used four designs but have printed about ten because I keep changing my mind ... I used to be indecisive but now I'm not quite sure ... lol. I Love Promarkers November Challenge

The rubber stamp used for this image was borrowed from a friend; it is part of a lovely set which includes two more stamps of cute children. I've made several cards using these images coloured with Promarkers, and digital papers from the Winter Wonderland collection by Martine McKnight, which can be downloaded free from her blog here. I loved the results so in order to enter the November Challenge on the I Love Promarkers Challenge Blog I created this card by following sketch number 5. With the wet weather oustside and poor natural light indoors it was difficult to get good pictures so I'll try again tomorrow with the other cards.

Variation on a Theme

I liked the Lilac and White birthday card so much that I decided to make a similar one for the 21st birthday of a close friend's daughter. She has recently moved into her own house so I used a colour scheme that I think will match her living room. The image is again Lola with Wine from Pink Petticoat, I have paper pieced parts of it and used Pro Markers to colour the rest. The finishing touch is a wine bottle charm tied onto the ribbon.
