As Caroline is in her 20's and slim with long blond hair, I thought that this image from Pink Petticoat would be ideal. The digital papers are also from Pink Petticoat and I'm really pleased with the finished card ...

I Love ProMarkers Challenge 2

This is my entry for the 2nd challenge over on I Love ProMarkers. Again there is a sketch to follow but you are allowed to use whatever colours of ProMarkers that you wish. I wanted to use a collection that was a free download from Funky Hand and as luck would have it I had ProMarkers to match the pink and green in the papers. I'm quite pleased with the finished card but unfortunately the photographs don't show up the gloss finish on the cherries and shoes.

Get Funky Challenge

This is my card for the first Get Funky Challenge. The entries must include at least one Funky Hand paper or extra and the challenge for August is a sketch. I have several Funky Hand CD ROM's so my first challenge, which probably took longer than making the actual card, was deciding which papers to use. I wanted to try a collection that I hadn't used before, to save some time I made the decision to use Funky Seasons and one of the summer collections seemed appropriate, so 'Summer Ice Cream' it was.

I really enjoyed making this card and now looking forward to seeing what the challenge is for September.

Just For You

I bought a pack of cardstock last week mainly because one of the predominant colours was green, which is my favourite. There are 12 designs, some embossed, some double sided and I like them all so much that it was hard choosing which ones to use first. Once that was settled I found it difficult to actually cut into them but eventually the deed was done. The stamp is one of several I bought at the same time and after stamping the center square was double embossed with clear EP but this doesn't show up in the photograph. I'm quite pleased with the finished card so must make myself use the other designs and not just keep looking and stroking them.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Decided to enter this challenge for the first time but our pc has been playing up this week - kept freezing or switching itself off - so have not been able to update my blog. Now that the pc is working - sort of - I decided to take a photograph of my card then upload it. More problems as I couldn't find the camera, but eventually tracked it down to my son's bedroom. Then poor light conditions meant that the colours don't look so good so I'm not really happy with the photo but it will have to do now as I am running out of time. In fact I'm probably too late but it's done now so I may as well give it a try.

Son's birthday

It was my younger son's birthday on Friday and it was a rush to get two cards made for him as we only got back from holiday on Tuesday evening. Wednesday evening was out of the question as we had a cricket match to win - son plays, husband is manager and I'm the scorer (somebody has got to do it). Thursday I got stuck in - I'd already decided to make a cricket themed one from his older brother but wasn't sure what to do for the one from us. Decided to keep away from football or golf as that is what he usually gets and spent ages going through stamps and papers. Finally settled on a cupcake stamp with a cute little mouse and papers from Funky Hand, and was very happy with how it turned out.

Asked to make two cards by a friend.

A friend asked me to make her two cards, one for an Engagement and the other for a 21st Birthday that she had missed.

For the Engagement card I decided to keep it simple and made it A5 in Cream and Gold with the couple's initials on the front. For the centre panel I used some pearlised paper ... possibly stardream ... embossed with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and matted on gold miriboard, from which I also cut the initials and hearts using the Hippy Chick alphabet. The sentiment was created on the pc and printed directly onto the card and to finish off I used some gems from my stash and gold organza ribbon from Ribbon Oasis

For the belated 21st birthday card I only knew that 'Rachel likes to shop', so this is what I came up with.

Papers are Provocraft 'rob and bob studio'. The image is a download from Pink Petticoat which was coloured with Promarkers in addition to a little paper piecing then matted on pink and black card. Circular sentiment created on the pc and cut with Nestabilities, then finished with silver numerals cut with Sizzlits 'bozo' alphabet. A few crystal gems from my stash finish the front of this A5 card. I printed a belated verse on the inside then decorated the blank side with a scalloped circle cut from the main dp.
