Asked to make two cards by a friend.

A friend asked me to make her two cards, one for an Engagement and the other for a 21st Birthday that she had missed.

For the Engagement card I decided to keep it simple and made it A5 in Cream and Gold with the couple's initials on the front. For the centre panel I used some pearlised paper ... possibly stardream ... embossed with the Divine Swirls Cuttlebug folder and matted on gold miriboard, from which I also cut the initials and hearts using the Hippy Chick alphabet. The sentiment was created on the pc and printed directly onto the card and to finish off I used some gems from my stash and gold organza ribbon from Ribbon Oasis

For the belated 21st birthday card I only knew that 'Rachel likes to shop', so this is what I came up with.

Papers are Provocraft 'rob and bob studio'. The image is a download from Pink Petticoat which was coloured with Promarkers in addition to a little paper piecing then matted on pink and black card. Circular sentiment created on the pc and cut with Nestabilities, then finished with silver numerals cut with Sizzlits 'bozo' alphabet. A few crystal gems from my stash finish the front of this A5 card. I printed a belated verse on the inside then decorated the blank side with a scalloped circle cut from the main dp.

Disney 18th Birthday Card

This is an 18th birthday card for a girl with special needs who loves pink and all things Disney. I was puzzling over what to use when I came across a pink 'tiara' that I wore during a girls only weekend away (not my usual style but we all had to wear them), so I decided to do a bit of recycling.

I'm quite pleased with the finished card which looks much better in real life. The photographs make the colours look dull but the light wasn't good and I needed to get it in the post. I just hope that Emily likes it.

I Love Promarkers Challenge

This is my entry to the first I Love Promarkers challenge, it's also my very first entry to a blog challenge. I am a beginner with Promarkers but have been watching a few tutorials so when I stumbled across this challenge I decided to have a go. There is a sketch to follow but any colour of Promarkers can be used so I've gone with Lime Green and Cornflower as I used this combination recently on another card and really liked the result.

I'm not completely happy with the photographs as it was a bit dull here today with a few showers so I took several pics on various window sills and chose the best. Fingers crossed but not holding my breath.

Another Gorjuss Girl

I love this image and feel that the colours green and yellow go so well together. All the papers are from the 'Too Soon' kit, which is a free download from Shabby Princess. I've coloured the image with Promarkers.

Sketch Saturday # 56 20th June

Decided to take part in this challenge for the first time ... and first Gorjus Girl ... probably too late though as I've been strugling to download my photos from the new camera. I seem to have cracked it now so will see if it's in time to be considered. I used promarkers and a colour combination that I've had in mind for a while ... ever since some towels caught my eye in Sainsbury's. I love green and the 'lime' towels looked so nice next to the ones in 'duck egg' , that I decided to try the combination on a card. I'm new to using promarkers too so this card has been a real challenge.

Latest cards.

This is a card wallet that I made for an image swap that I take part in, my partner has received it now and seems pleased with her goodies. The image is from a Charmed Cards download, dotty and striped papers were free with a magazine some time ago and the blue paper was part of a kit I downloaded free from Kirsty Wiseman(not quite sure which one as I downloaded several).



Below is the card I've just made for my elder son to give to his dad for Fathers Day. I used a free download from Kirsty Wiseman. It came as an A4 sheet to printout and make into an A6 card, but I fiddled about with it a little as I wanted to make a bigger card. In the end I used the resized elements plus other bits in my own design then created an insert too. I hope she doesn't mind.

Just need to make another card for younger son now but I have something completely different in mind.
